The element I enjoyed most in this production was the excellent music by Francesco Grech ... this was much more than a series of musical interludes but a veritable musical score underlining the various scenes and giving the whole piece an evocative musical backdrop on which the various scenes unfolded . This must rank as one of the best use of live music in a local theater production I have witnessed...

Francesco Grech is a Maltese writer, poet and cultural practitioner from Gozo. He holds Master’s degrees in Literature and in Arts and Culture Management, pursued at the University of Malta and in Rome. Working across poetry, performance and interdisciplinary artistic practice, his work often explores memory, language, place, identity and the ways personal experience intersects with collective histories.
His first two books, Kollox Jeħel Magħna (2022) and ix-xita tinżel rasha ’l isfel (2025), were published by Merlin Publishers. His wider creative practice includes original theatre and musical productions such as Dun Ġorġ, Dar ir-Rummien, Limbo and Dear Pete, presented in Malta, Gozo and Italy. He has also developed international and site-specific collaborations, including a project with Spanish artist Cristóbal Gabarrón at the Ġgantija Temples. Francesco is a Salzburg Global Fellow, having participated in the Salzburg Global Seminar’s Artists at Risk programme in 2023.
Alongside his artistic work, Francesco is active in cultural strategy, policy and advocacy. He initiated Gozo’s first literary festival in collaboration with Inizjamed and led the island’s successful bid to become European Region of Gastronomy 2026. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Malta Entertainment Industry and Arts Association and forms part of the Artistic Team developing Victoria31 Għawdex’s bid for the title of European Capital of Culture 2031.
