The element I enjoyed most in this production was the excellent music by Francesco Grech ... this was much more than a series of musical interludes but a veritable musical score underlining the various scenes and giving the whole piece an evocative musical backdrop on which the various scenes unfolded . This must rank as one of the best use of live music in a local theater production I have witnessed...

Francesco Grech is a Gozitan writer, composer, and cultural strategist. He holds Master’s degrees in Literature and in Arts & Culture from the University of Malta and Rome. His creative work spans theatre and music, with original productions such as Dun Ä orÄ¡, Dar ir-Rummien, Limbo, and Dear Pete staged in Malta, Gozo, and Italy.
His debut book Kollox Jeħel Magħna (2022) and follow-up ix-xita tinżel rasha’l isfel (2025) were both published by Merlin. Francesco also collaborates internationally, including with Cristobal Gabarron on a site-specific project at the Ä gantija Temples, and he was selected for the Salzburg Global Seminar’s Artists at Risk program in 2023.
Beyond his artistic work, Francesco is active in cultural policy and leadership. He launched Gozo’s first literary festival with Inizjamed, led the island’s bid to become European Region of Gastronomy 2026, and currently heads the Literature sector within MEIA. He is also part of the core artistic team shaping Gozo’s bid for European Capital of Culture 2031.
